Why use our donation center?

Excellence and stewardship are integral to the core values of the Martinsburg Union Rescue Mission. This commitment to continuous improvement drives us to seek ways to enhance our effectiveness. We firmly believe in perpetual motion and refuse to remain stagnant.

Currently, approximately 25% of the Mission’s annual operating budget is sourced through our Thrift store and  donation /recycling center. Consequently, 75% of our budget is derived from external fundraising efforts. We are confident that your active participation in our recycling programs will enable us to increase our sustainable funding through the thrift store and donation / recycling center to 50%.

It is crucial to emphasize that the Mission does not receive any government funding. Achieving a 50% sustainability in our funding will empower us to concentrate our efforts on the mission’s primary objective: nurturing disciples for Jesus.

How can you help?

Partnering with us through our donation center is a straightforward process. Simply load your vehicle with clothing, shoes, towels, sheets, pillows, blankets, and drive to 112 Elijah Street. Additionally, we gladly accept household items such as paper, books, magazines, cardboard, metal, and aluminum.

However, please note that there are certain items we cannot accept at our center. These include couches, loveseats, mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and desks.
